The squash by itself: blech. Drenched with spaghetti sauce: mmm mmm mmm! The squash strands had the texture of angel hair pasta, just marigold in color. I also made whole-wheat noodles in case the squash turned out not so good, but I shouldn't have.

Conclusion: Since the squash took 45 mintues to bake, I can see us doing this on the weekends only. Spaghetti squash spaghetti is not for a throw-something-together weeknight.

I did try it - I'll try anything at least once. The litter part (cookie crumbs) were more like soft crumbled animal crackers when I expected something "grittier." Aside from that, it was interesting if not outright tasty. mmmm

Did you know you can make loaves and loaves of bread and freeze the bread? Defrost the loaf by putting in back in the refrigerator. OR ... Freeze it in slices and then toast a frozen slice in the toaster when you make cinnamon toast. This works great for bagels.

MadCookie brought up a good point regarding making an informed decision about whether something is good for you versus having that choice made by another party or agency. The example was fluoride added to municipal drinking water, but this is applicable to a wide-range of issues.

So yes, informed choices are key; but it's another issue (discussion, and blog post as well) when you don't get to make those choices yourself.

Munkey is a nickname that my sig other and I have used interchangeably simply because, well monkeys are cool. She's used in more recently and even has the handle CraftyMunkey as her Xbox Live name and CMunkey elsewhere.

It's spelled with a "u" probably because "monkey" is usually taken as a screenname or handle, because it's cuter than a regular monkey, and it has more of a fun flair to it. Maybe check with the kids which is cooler--Monkey versus Munkey.

"Munkey" also seems to evoke the cartoon, imaginary version of the primate as opposed to the real-life National Geographic, see-at-the-zoo kind. Kind of how "purple-flavored" food and drink has a uniquely non-grape, yet consistent flavor.

Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate organic foods and will sometimes pay the premium for them. I'm still learning how to appreciate the difference in taste and effect.

It's just amusing how we went from plain food to enriched/fast/bigger/better food and then back to plain old food. :-)
